Interpol deletes client data following Grain Law Firm’s successful representation
Grain Law Firm is pleased to announce a significant victory for its Client at the international level. The Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files (CCF) has decided to delete the Client’s personal data from INTERPOL’s electronic databases and terminate the international search aimed at the Client’s detention and forced return to Ukraine.
This decision reaffirms the fundamental principles governing INTERPOL’s operations, particularly the requirement for an individualised approach to the processing of personal data, which must pursue a clear and lawful purpose. It also underscores the inadmissibility of processing information concerning individuals protected from forced return to their country of origin. Data that fail to meet these standards are subject to deletion.
Oleksandr Teleshetskyi, Partner at Grain Law Firm, and Markiian Vysotskyi successfully represented the Client’s interests, securing an important precedent in combating unjustified international prosecution and extradition proceedings.
“This case clearly demonstrates how compliance with international legal standards in criminal prosecution, combined with professional legal representation, can effectively protect the rights of Ukrainian citizens even in complex cross-border legal proceedings,” commented Oleksandr Teleshetskyi.
